PANEER LAZIZ

Ingredients to make PANEER LAZIZ

  • cottage cheese (paneer) square cubes – 200 gm
  • 2. capsicum vertically cut – 100gm
  • Chopped tomatoes – 1 cup
  • ginger garlic chilli paste – 1 tbsp
  • tomato puree – 1/2 cup
  • Dry masala powder – turmeric, chilli, coriander, cumin – 1 tsp
  • salt – to taste
  • Punjabi garam masala – 1 tsp
  • Cream and coriander – 1 tbsp
  • Dry fenugreek leaves (kasuri methi) – 1 tsp
  • oil and vegetable oil – 1 tbsp
  • oil – 1 tbsp
  • Red chillies – 2
  • garlic paste – 3 – 4 cloves
  • bay leaf – 1
  • clove – 1
  • coriander seeds – 1/4 tsp
  • onion paste – 50 gm
  • Garam masala – 1 tsp
  • coriander and cumin seeds – 1 tsp
  • turmeric powder – a pinch
  • butter – 1 1/2 tbsp
  • Cashew, melon seeds (magaj), poppy seeds 
  • butter – 1 1/2 tbsp
  • Cashew, melon seeds (magaj), poppy seeds (khus khus) paste – 50 gm
  • tomato ketchup – less than 50 gm
  • Edible colour (yellow) – 2 drops
  • salt – to taste
  • water – approx

How to make PANEER LAZIZ

  1. Fry the cottage cheese cubes to light golden brown.
  2. Heat some vegetable oil in a pan and add garlic ginger chilli paste, garlic paste, vertically cut capsicum and sauté.
  3. For gravy:- 3. Heat some oil in a pan and add chilli, garlic, ginger, bay leaf, cloves, paste of cloves and coriander seeds and sauté for 5 minutes.
  4. Add onion paste in it and saute for 2 minutes, add the remaining ingredients and let it cook till it is light brown in color.
  5. Add the butter, cashews, poppy seeds and melon seeds paste, tomato ketchup, and approximate amount of water and cook it for 5 minutes.
  6. 6. In the capsicum sautéed pan, add turmeric powder, salt, punjabi masala, dried fenugreek leaves, and chopped tomatoes and mix and cook well.
  7. Add yellow gravy, and tomato puree to it and cook well.
  8. Add grated cheese and cottage cheese, and fried cottage cheese pieces and mix well.
  9. In the end, add cream and coriander.
  10. Serve in a serving bowl and garnish with golden brown onion, cashews and cream.

My Tip:

For garnishing:- Golden brown fried onions, cashews and cream.
