About Rajma Rice Recipe

Rajma Rice is favourite of all Punjabis. Almost Everyone loves rajma rice.Everyone has his own style in making it.Here I am presenting the way my mom use to make .

Rajma Rice

Ingredients to make Rajma Rice

  • rajma 2 cups
  • ghee 2 -3 tablespoon
  • ginger 1 tsp chopped
  • garlic 1 tsp chopped
  • jeera 1/2 tsp
  • rajma masala 1 tablespoon
  • amla paste 1 tsp
  • kali harad 1
  • 2 small onion
  • 4-5 tomatoes
  • 1 glass rice
  • salt to taste
  • degi mirch 1 tsp
  • red chilli powder 1 tsp
  • Garam masala 1/2 tsp
  • coriander leaves
  • kasoori methi 1/2 tsp
  • green chillies 1-2

How to make Rajma Rice

  1. First wash the Rajma and soak it in sufficient water for 6-8 hours
  2. Now putRajma in pressure cooker and after 2-3 whistles keep it on low flame for 1/2 an hour
  3. Boil the rice with salt and keep it aside.
  4. For Tadka take a wok and heat 2 tablespoon Ghee .
  5. Add jeera, ginger garlic paste, Amla paste , chopped onions and cook for a while
  6. When onions turn golden brown add tomato purée, salt , degi mirch, red chilli powder,and cook the masala
  7. When Ghee separates from masala add boiled Rajma and sufficient water
  8. Cook on a low flame for 15 minutes
  9. Add Garam masala, kasoori methi, coriander leaves,
  10. Add 1 tablespoon Ghee in the last
  11. Now take a serving dish and place the round open mould in it
  12. put Layers of Rice and rajma one by one
  13. Take out the mould and serve hot with spicy onions

My Tip:

We can add fresh cream also for making it more tempting
