ABOUT Authentic Parsi Chicken Cutlets.... RECIPE

An authentic cutlet that is made with chicken mince and potatoes with few spices and bread slices is a famous appetiser from this community. It is so yummy with awesome colour and texture. A traditional Parsi style cutlet recipe that is so very perfect for any party at home. Simple and yet elegant. Present it in style as i did with veggies and fruits combined for an eye catching medley of colours as a salad.

Ingredients Serving: 10

  1. Chicken mince 800 gm
  2. Ginger mince 2 tbsp
  3. Garlic mince 2 tbsp
  4. Salt 2 tbsp
  5. Cumin seeds 1 tbsp
  6. Coriander seeds 1 tbsp
  7. Green chillies 5-6
  8. Cardamom pods 5
  9. Caraway seeds 1 tsp
  10. Potatoes boiled 300 gm
  11. Cinnamon sticks 3-4
  12. Garam masala 1 tsp
  13. Bread slices soaked in little milk 2
  14. Egg 1
  15. Red chilli powder 1 tbsp
  16. Onions sliced and fried 2 cups
  17. Breadcrumbs 1 cup
  18. Coriander leaves chopped 1/2 cup
  19. Mint leaves chopped 1/4th cup


  1. First dry roast the whole spices and grind along with the green chillies and the soaked bread slices.
  2. Deep fry the onions and keep aside.
  3. In a bowl, mix all the ingredients well including the egg.
  4. Shape into round cutlets.
  5. Coat with the breadcrumbs and refrigerate for 30 minutes.
  6. Deep fry them on medium flame until golden in colour on both the sides.
  7. You can even shallow fry if desired.
  8. Serve hot with steaming plate of plain white rice and salad.
