Ingredients to make Medu Vada

  • urad dal-1cup
  • onion-1
  • baking soda-1/2tsp
  • curry leaves-2sprigs
  • salt-to taste
  • pepper corns-1tsp
  • oil-for frying

How to make Medu Vada

  1. SOAK 1 CUP URAD DAL IN WATER FOR 12-14 HOURS
  2. GRIND INTO A SMOOTH BATTER, ADDING VERY LITTLE WATER
  3. ADD ALL THE INGREDIENTS TO THE BATTER, MIX WELL
  4. PLACE A SMALL BALL OF BATTER ON A GREASED PLASTIC SHEET, FLATTEN, MAKE A HOLE IN CENTRE, DEEP FRY
  5. FRY THE VADAS TILL GOLDEN BROWN & CRISP
