About Aloo palak Recipe

This is healthy side, made with spinach and potatoes, a perfect accompaniment for dal rice or even roti.

Aloo palak

Ingredients to make Aloo palak

  • 2 potatoes
  • palak 1 bunch finely chopped
  • 1 tbsp oil
  • Pinch of hing
  • 1 onion finely chopped
  • 5 garlic cloves crushed
  • 2 green chillies finely chopped
  • Half inch ginger finely chopped
  • 2 medium tomatoes finely chopped
  • 1/2tsp turmeric powder
  • 1/2 tsp coriander powder
  • 1/2 tsp Garam masala
  • salt to taste

How to make Aloo palak

  1. Take pressure cooker and put oil in it.
  2. Put hing and then onion . Saute till it turns translucent.
  3. Peel and cut potatoes into medium pieces
  4. Then add these potatoes into the cooker and mix well and stir fry for sometime.
  5. Then add garlic, tomatoes, green chillies, ginger and palak.
  6. Mix well and Saute for few minutes.
  7. Add all the spice powders and salt. Mix well.
  8. Put half glass of water and cover the cooker with the lid
  9. Put it on high and let 3 whistle go. Simmer for 10 minutes.
  10. Switch off the gas and serve hot with roti.
