Ingredients to make meethay ghoday

  • 1 cup all purpose flour
  • 1/2 tbsp oil
  • pinch of salt
  • water as required to make the dough
  • oil for deep frying
  • 2 cups milk
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 tbsp raisins
  • 1 tbsp almond chopped
  • 1 tsp ghee

How to make meethay ghoday

  1. mix together flour, oil and salt
  2. add water and make a stiff dough
  3. cover and keep aside for 30 minutes
  4. divide the dough in two parts then roll each into a thin disc
  5. cut the disc into squares with a pizza cutter
  6. to make flower:
  7. take a square and pinch the centre of one side first
  8. likewise pinch all the sides together so that all the sides come to the centre
  9. prepare all the flowers and arrange on a plate
  10. leave them for 6-8 hours or overnight until they are dry
  11. heat oil in a pan and deep fry them until brown
  12. drain them on a plate and keep aside
  13. heat 1 tsp ghee in a pan and shallow fry the chopped almonds and raisins, keep aside
  14. heat the milk with water in a pan
  15. when it starts boiling, add fried flowers and cook on low flame for 15 minutes or until they are softened
  16. add sugar and cook for 1-2 minutes
  17. switch off the flame
  18. now transfer into a serving bowl
  19. add fried almonds and raisins
  20. let it cool on room tempreture and serve
