This is a tasty and easy side dish made with brinjals.

Muzu kathirikay kari

Ingredients to make Muzu kathirikay kari

  • Small brinjal 1/4 kilo
  • oil
  • salt
  • tamarind small ball
  • Daniya [coriander seeds] 2 table spoon
  • chana dal 2 table spoon
  • Dry red chillies - 3
  • Grated coconut 2 table spoon
  • hing [2 pinches]
  • mustard seeds - 1 tsp

How to make Muzu kathirikay kari

  1. Fry the coriander seeds, chana dal, dry red chillies, hing in some oil.
  2. Now make a paste of the above ingredients along with some tamarind and salt.
  3. Slit the brinjals and fill the ground paste in them.
  4. Steam the brinjals and keep aside. Now heat some oil in a pan.
  5. Add mustard seeds and then once they splutter, add the filled brinjals.
  6. Fry and cook for 10 minutes.
  7. The curry is ready to be served with dal rice.
