Tandoori Chicken (Oven Method)

Ingredients to make Tandoori Chicken (Oven Method)

  • chicken leg pieces 4 Nos.
  • turmeric powder 1/2 spoon
  • Kashmiri chilly Powder 1 spoon
  • Red chilly powder 1 spoon
  • coriander Powder 3/4 spoon
  • cumin powder 1/2 spoon
  • Garam masala powder 1/4 spoon
  • Kasturi methi 1 spoon
  • Hung curd 1/2 cup
  • salt to taste
  • oil 3 spoons

How to make Tandoori Chicken (Oven Method)

  1. Take washed chicken legs and make some 4 slits on each pieces.
  2. Add all the dry powders including kasturi methi, a spoon of oil and salt, mix well with hung curd.
  3. Add chicken pieces and marinate until masala coats well.
  4. Let it sit for 5 to 6 hours in fridge.
  5. After 6 hours, Preheat oven to 400 F.
  6. Meantime, arrange chicken pieces in aluminum foil covered grill plates. Grease pieces with oil.
  7. Once preheating was done, place the grill plate in the oven.
  8. Let it cook for 20 to 25 minutes.
  9. Once done, flip to other side and grease with oil. Let it be for another 20 minutes.
  10. When its done with both the sides, turn the oven option to Broil.
  11. Let it cook for 5 minutes on both sides of the pieces.
  12. Serve hot with Mayonnaise or Green Chutney.

My Tip:

You can also use store bought tandoori chicken masala. Oven temperature varies to the oven model. So watch your temperature and timing.
