ABOUT Bhature RECIPE

Bhatoore, a famous bread from punjab, goes well with chole.

Ingredients Serving: 10

  1. 500 gms maida
  2. 50 gms sooji
  3. 4 tbsp oil
  4. 2 cups curd
  5. 1 tbsp fruit salt
  6. 2 tbsp Sugar
  7. Oil for Deep frying
  8. Salt to taste

Instructions

  1. Add sugar to the curd, keep aside for half an hour to activate the yeast of the curd.
  2. Now sieve the maida. Add salt, oil, fruit salt and mix well.
  3. Now by adding curd little by little, knead a soft dough. Add more curd if required.
  4. Knead nicely with light hands. Keep aside to ferment for 6 hours.
  5. Knead again with greased hands and make medium sized balls. Roll out using a rolling pin.
  6. Heat oil on high, slowly slide in the bhatura. Let it puff up and flip it. Fry till it turns golden brown.
  7. Keep on a kitchen towel to soak any excess oil. Serve hot.
