Ingredients to make Dhokla in idli form

  • 2 cup gram flour or besan
  • 1 cup curd
  • 1 cup water
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 1 chopped green chili
  • 1 tbsp white vinegar or juice of lemon
  • 1 tbsp oil
  • One tsp eno or one sachet
  • For sugar syrup:
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 tsp sarson seeds
  • 1 tsp white sesame seeds
  • Juice of 1 lemon
  • curry leaves 5-6
  • 1/2 tsp Green chilli (optional)
  • Pinch of salt
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • Garnish: desicated coconut
  • coriander leaves

How to make Dhokla in idli form

  1. Mix all the ingredients. Add eno at the end just before you will put in moulds. Then grease idli moulds pour the batter. Do not fill them fully.
  2. Steam it for 12 min
  3. Meanwhile for syrup: Put oil in a pan, as it gets hot add water, lemon juice, sugar and bring it to a boil, let it boil for 2 minutes.
  4. Pour it on steamed dhokla in idli form garnish with desiccated coconut and coriander leaves.

@shashigoel u dnt need to keep dhokla batter to rest. just mix everything, then grease ur moulds, add eno to ur batter n fill in moulds.
