ABOUT Dhokla in idli form RECIPE

Sweet salty and sour all in one awesome taste, made of gram flour or besan.

Ingredients Serving: 10

  1. 2 cup gram flour or besan
  2. 1 cup curd
  3. 1 cup water
  4. 1/2 tsp baking soda
  5. 1 tsp baking powder
  6. 1/2 tsp salt
  7. 1 tsp sugar
  8. 1 chopped green chili
  9. 1 tbsp white vinegar or juice of lemon
  10. 1 tbsp oil
  11. One tsp eno or one sachet
  12. For sugar syrup:
  13. 1 cup water
  14. 1 tsp sarson seeds
  15. 1 tsp white sesame seeds
  16. Juice of 1 lemon
  17. Curry leaves 5-6
  18. 1/2 tsp Green chilli (optional)
  19. Pinch of salt
  20. 1 tsp sugar
  21. Garnish: desicated coconut
  22. Coriander leaves

Instructions

  1. Mix all the ingredients. Add eno at the end just before you will put in moulds. Then grease idli moulds pour the batter. Do not fill them fully.
  2. Steam it for 12 min
  3. Meanwhile for syrup: Put oil in a pan, as it gets hot add water, lemon juice, sugar and bring it to a boil, let it boil for 2 minutes.
  4. Pour it on steamed dhokla in idli form garnish with desiccated coconut and coriander leaves.

do we have to keep it on high flame or medium or low
