A sweet winter tea accompaniment which is a must in Punjabi weddings. Have never attended yet a ghar ki shaadi without this ultimate delight.

Ingredients to make Mithyai / Taangri / Gud paare

  • 1 cup all purpose flour
  • 1 tbsp lukewarm ghee
  • Lukewarm water to prepare the dough
  • ghee/oil for deep frying
  • gur for wrapping the fried strips

How to make Mithyai / Taangri / Gud paare

  1. In a big sized bowl put all purpose flour and 1 tbsp ghee.
  2. Mix well and kneading for at least 5 minutes.
  3. Now take little water and prepare the dough.
  4. Take the complete dough and roll it into a thick circle /square.
  5. Cut into long strips. In a wok put ghee /oil and heat on low flame.
  6. Put the strips and fry till golden. Let the strips rest in a plate for a couple of minutes.
  7. Put the gur in a pan and melt the the gur on a low flame.
  8. Add the strips to the gur and wrap them completely from all the sides.
  9. Let it cool in a plate and enjoy it with a hot cup of tea or just like that.
