About Paneer tikka masala Recipe

Paneer tikka masala is a flavoursome and delicious punjabi gourmet dish. The best thing in this Paneer tikka masala is that it melts in your mouth. It tastes creamy due to the addition of cashew paste and cream. Though process of making is too lengthy but it is worth the effort. Definitely, you will be flooded with compliments for this dish.

Paneer tikka masala

Ingredients to make Paneer tikka masala

  • Cubed paneer - 200 grams
  • Cubed onion - 1/2cup
  • Cubed deseeded tomato - 1/2 cup
  • Cubed capsicum - 1/2 cup
  • For marinating :-
  • Hung curd - 1/2 cup
  • ginger-garlic paste - 2 tsp
  • Kashmiri chilli powder - 1 tbsp
  • turmeric powder - 1 pinch
  • Tandoori masala - 1 tsp
  • Garam masala - 1 tsp
  • Kasuri methi powder - 2 tsp
  • lemon juice - 1 tbsp
  • mustard oil - 1 tbsp
  • For gravy :-
  • Chopped onion - 1/2 cup
  • Chopped tomato - 1/2 cup
  • garlic paste - 1 tsp
  • cashew paste - 1 tbsp
  • Red chilli powder - 1 tsp
  • cumin powder - 1 tsp
  • Corriander powder - 1 tsp
  • Liquid milk - 1/4 cup
  • Kasuri methi powder - 1/2 tsp
  • Fresh cream - 1/2 cup
  • salt - As required
  • Refined oil - 4 tbsp
  • butter - 1 tbsp

How to make Paneer tikka masala

  1. Combine the all ingredients for the marinate and whisk well.
  2. Add paneer cubes, onion cubes, tomato cubes and capsicum cubes. Keep aside for 1 hour.
  3. Thread the marinated paneer, onion, tomato, capsicum cubes onto skewers.
  4. Heat oil on a tawa and place the skewers on it.
  5. Fry until both the sides are brown.
  6. Heat oil in a pan.
  7. Add chopped onion and saute till browned.
  8. Add chopped tomato till it becomes tender and pulpy.
  9. Add garlic paste, cashew paste, salt, Cumin-corriander-red chilli powder, cook till the oil separates.
  10. Add kasuri methi powder, garam masala, milk and cream and cook for sometime.
  11. Add paneer-onion-tomato-capsicum cubes and stir gently.
  12. Add butter before serving.

My Tip:

You can add the rest tikka marinating masala in the curry, it will be more delicious.
