Tadka Chana Dal

Ingredients to make Tadka Chana Dal

  • Soaked chana dal - 250 gm/2 cups
  • water - 3 Cups
  • For Tadka
  • onions - 3
  • tomatoes- 2
  • tej patta-2
  • cumin seeds - 1tspn
  • Red chillies -2 to 3
  • haldi - 1 tspn
  • Garam masla -1/2 tspn
  • garlic - 4 leaves
  • ginger - 1/2 tspn
  • Black pepper powder - 1/2 tspn
  • Green cardamoms- 2
  • Badi elaichi - 1

How to make Tadka Chana Dal

  1. TAKE 2 CUPS PRE-SOAKED (FOR 1 HOUR) CHANA DAL, ADD 2-3 CUPS WATER, 1 TSP TURMERIC POWDER, SALT
  2. PRESSURE COOK UPTO 3 WHISTLES
  3. HEAT 1 TBSP OIL, ADD THE INGREDIENTS FOR THE TADKA, 3 SLICED ONIONS, 2 CHOPPED TOMATOES, SAUTE
  4. COOK TILL THE MASALA LEAVES OIL, ADD THE BOILED CHANA DAL, SIMMER FOR 5 MINS

My Tip:

Add 1 tspn of each masoor and moong dal to make the dal thicker.
