About Prawn Biriyani Recipe

Tried this recipe for the first time and it came out well. It is a flavourful, enriching and a tasty dish.

Prawn Biriyani

Ingredients to make Prawn Biriyani

  • Prawns 600 grams
  • INGREDIENTS FOR MARINATION
  • salt
  • 1 TBSP garlic PASTE
  • 1/4 tsp turmeric powder
  • 1/2 tsp lemon Juice
  • Ingredients for biriyani
  • 3 tbsp ghee
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 1 inch cinnamon
  • 1 green cardemon
  • 1 black cardemon
  • 4-5 black peppercorn
  • 4 cloves
  • 1 tsp caraway seeds
  • 1-2 chopped green chillies
  • 1 tbsp ginger paste
  • 1 TBSP garlic PASTE
  • 3 medium onion sliced
  • 2 medium tomatoes chopped
  • 1 cup tomato puree
  • salt
  • 1 tsp red chilli powder
  • 1/4 tsp turmeric powder
  • 1 tsp garam masala powder
  • 1 tsp biriyani masala
  • 1/4 cup fried onion
  • 2 tbsp chopped coriander leaves
  • 2 tbsp chopped mint leaves
  • Ingredients for layer
  • rice 600gms
  • 2 tbsp ghee
  • 2 tbsp Milk
  • Pinch of saffron
  • 2 tbsp fried onion
  • 2 tbsp chopped coriander leaves
  • 2 tbsp chopped mint leaves
  • 2-3 cillies slit
  • Aluminium foil for cover
  • mint leaf for garnish

How to make Prawn Biriyani

  1. In a bowl keep prawn,salt,garlic paste, turmeric powder,lemon juice and mix all of these
  2. Keep it for 30 mins
  3. Soak the rice with water in a bowl for 30 mins
  4. Soak the saffron with milk
  5. Heat o wok and give ghee
  6. Add bay leaf, cinnamon,green cardemon,black cardemon,black peppercorn,caraway seeds,green chillies, ginger paste,garlic paste, mix it all
  7. Add onions sliced, fry till it become golden
  8. Add tomatoes and fry
  9. Add tomato puree,salt,red chilli powder, turmeric powder,garam masala powder,biriyani masala and mix properly
  10. Add fried onions, chopped coriander leaves,mint leaves and mix
  11. Add prawn and cook
  12. When it cooked half prawn mixture keep aside in a bowl
  13. Half of left in wok
  14. Then spread half soak rice
  15. Top with reserved prawn mixture
  16. Then spread left of soak rice
  17. Spread ghee, saffron milk,fried onions, chopped coriander leaves, chopped mint leaves,slit chillies
  18. Then cover the wok with the aluminium foil
  19. Then keep the lid on the wok
  20. Cook it for 15 min in a low flame
  21. After 15 min serve the biriyani
  22. Garnish mint leaf top of the biriyani
