About Palak paneer Recipe

Indian cottage cheese in spinach gravy is mostly famous north indian curry served with paratha, naan or roti.

Palak paneer

Ingredients to make Palak paneer

  • 150 gm panner cubes
  • 100 gm palak or spinach
  • 2-3 green chillies
  • 1 cup onion paste
  • 1 cup tomato paste
  • 1/4 tsp kasuri methi
  • 1/2 tsp coriander powder
  • 1/4 tsp cumin powder
  • 1 tsp garam masala
  • 1 tsp ginger garlic paste
  • 1 inch cinnamon stick
  • 2 green cardamom
  • 1 clove
  • Oil or butter as needed
  • 3-4 tbsp fresh cream or 10 cashews
  • salt as needed

How to make Palak paneer

  1. This step is optional. Fry the paneer in oil for 2 min and keep aside.
  2. Take a pan ,add green chillies, spinach fry for 1 min only. Set it cool.
  3. Grind spinach to make green puree.
  4. Heat the pan with oil, add cinnamon, cardamom, clove and cumin. Add ginger garlic and onion paste.
  5. Add tomato puree . Add kasuri methi, garam masala, coriander powder.
  6. Saute until the mixture leaves sides of the pan.
  7. Pour half cup water and stir.
  8. Simmer the flame add spinach puree.
  9. Add paneer at last and mix. Switch off the flame.
  10. We can use fresh cream for garnishing.
  11. Serve palak paneer with naan ,roti or rice.

My Tip:

We can take smoky charcoal in bowl. Put the bowl in the dish and cover for 1-2 min. For restaurant like flavor.
