About Steamed Hilsa Recipe

Hilsa is the one of the most tasty and popular fish in Bengal– and it is a must have in monsoon’s during lunch —

Steamed Hilsa

Ingredients to make Steamed Hilsa

  • 5 to 6 pieces of hilsa fish
  • 3 to 4 tablespoon of mustard paste
  • 5 tsp of curd
  • 5 tsp of mustard oil
  • salt to taste
  • 4 to 5 green chillies

How to make Steamed Hilsa

  1. Simply marinate the fishes with all the ingredients ( mustard paste, curd, mustard oil , green chillies and salt) for an hour .
  2. Then transfer it to a microwave proof dish and cover it with an aluminium foil .
  3. Make 4 to 5 holes on the aluminium foil with a fork. Put the dish on another microwave proof plate with some water on it .
  4. Steam the fish for 20 minutes — in the oven — inbetween turn the fish once after 10 minutes —
  5. Serve it hot with steamed white rice —– drooling —-
