Ingredients Serving: 3

  1. 2 cups urad dal
  2. 1 onion chopped
  3. 1 or 2 green chilli chopped
  4. 5 to 6 curry leaves chopped
  5. 2 tblspn corriander leaves chopped
  6. Salt to taste
  7. 1 tblspn ginger chopped
  8. 1/2 tspn cumin seeds
  9. 1/2 tspn crushed black pepper
  10. 1/4tspn soda
  11. 1/4 tspn hing
  12. Oil for frying

Instructions

  1. Soak urad dal for 4 to 5 hours.
  2. Drain and add soaked dal to mixer jar.
  3. Grind it into fine paste.add little water if required.
  4. Next add chopped onion, chopped green chilli, salt, chopoed ginger, chopped coriander leaves, chopped curry leaves, cumin seeds, crushed pepper, hing and baking soda to the urad dal batter.
  5. Mix it properly.
  6. Now heat the oil for frying.
  7. Now wet your hands.
  8. Take vada mix , flatten it and make a hole in the centre.
  9. Drop it in the hot oil.
  10. Flame should be on medium.
  11. Deep fry from both the sides.
  12. When they turn brown in color and crispy, remove them from the oil.
  13. Serve it with coconut chutney or Sambhar.
