Flavourful , creamy egg curry from Punjabi Cuisine . Simple but delectable .

Egg Malai Masala

Ingredients to make Egg Malai Masala

  • Hard boiled eggs 3
  • onions big roughly chopped 2 ground to a thick paste .
  • Ripe big tomatoes grated 3
  • butter 2 tablespoons
  • ginger garlic paste 1/2 teaspoon
  • cumin seeds 1 teaspoon
  • red chilli powder 2 teaspoons
  • turmeric powder 1/2 teaspoon
  • cumin powder 1/2 teaspoon
  • Green chilli slit lengthwise 1
  • Fresh cream 4 tablespoons
  • salt to taste
  • Kasuri methi 1/2 teaspoon

How to make Egg Malai Masala

  1. In a sauce pan , melt butter .
  2. Crackle cumin seeds .
  3. Add onion paste . Sauté well .
  4. Add ginger garlic paste . Sauté till raw smell leaves .
  5. Add freshly grated tomato purée .
  6. Stir . Cover and cook for 3 minutes .
  7. Add turmeric powder .
  8. Add green chilli , red chilli powder , cumin powder .
  9. Add salt .
  10. Mix and cook for 2 minutes .
  11. Meanwhile , cut the eggs .
  12. Add the cut eggs to the cooked gravy . Cover and cook for 2 minutes .
  13. Add cream . Mix it .
  14. Switch off the heat .
  15. Add Kasuri methi .
  16. Add a spoon of butter .
  17. Serve hot .

My Tip:

Soak the hard boiled eggs in cold water for 7 minutes for shelling out eggs easily .
