About Palak Paneer Recipe

One of the most famous dishes from Punjab, Palak Paneer.

Palak Paneer

Ingredients to make Palak Paneer

  • 900 gm palak (spinach)
  • 200 gm Paneer cottage cheese
  • 1/2 teaspoon cumin seeds
  • 2-3 greenchllies
  • 8- 10 garlic chopped
  • oil 3 tablesoon
  • salt to taste
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice

How to make Palak Paneer

  1. Remove the stem and wash the leaves thoroughly in running water. Blanch in salted boiling water for 2 minutes.
  2. Refresh in chilled water. Squeeze out excess water. Grind into a fine paste along with green chilli.
  3. Cut the paneer in cubes and heat oil in a pan.
  4. Add cumin seeds, when they begin to change color, add garlic and saute for half a minute.
  5. Add the palak puree and stir nicely.
  6. Add water if required. When the gravy comes to a boil, add paneer and mix well. Stir in lemon juice.
  7. Finally add fresh cream and serve hot.

My Tip:

The paneer can also be fried and used.
