Red spinach Bhaji

Ingredients to make Red spinach Bhaji

  • Red spinach cleaned , washed , chopped 1 bunch
  • garlic pods 5
  • Medium sized onion 1 finely chopped
  • oil 1 tablespoon
  • pepper powder to taste
  • salt to taste
  • sugar 1/4 teaspoon
  • cumin seeds 1/4 teaspoon

How to make Red spinach Bhaji

  1. Heat 1 tablespoon oil in a wok . Crackle 1/4 teaspoon cumin seeds .
  2. Add 1 medium sized finely chopped onion, finely chopped 5 garlic pods . Sauté till translucent.
  3. Sauté till the aroma is released.
  4. Add finely chopped clean red spinach a bunch .
  5. Mix and cover . Cook for 3- 4 minutes in medium heat .
  6. Spinach is cooked . Add 1/4 teaspoon sugar , salt and pepper powder to taste .
  7. Red spinach Baji is ready . No liquid is used in this recipe .
  8. Red spinach bhaji goes well with hot rice .

My Tip:

Sugar can be replaced with a piece of jaggery / palm candies .
