A easy quick instant dinner idea which popped out from my brain very recently turns to be this delicious pulao . Quick pulao using leftover rice adds spice to our lazy days .

Ingredients to make Instant potato pulao with leftover rice

  • potatoes medium 2 diced
  • Leftover rice in room temperature 1 large bowl
  • onion big 1 thinly sliced
  • ginger garlic paste 1/2 teaspoon
  • Ripe tomato medium size 1 finely chopped
  • bay leaves 3
  • cloves 4
  • cardamom pods 3
  • salt 1.5 teaspoons
  • oil 3 tablespoons
  • turmeric powder 1/2 teaspoon
  • red chilli powder 1/4 teaspoon
  • Biryani masala powder 1/2 teaspoon
  • water 100 ml
  • coriander leaves for garnishing .

How to make Instant potato pulao with leftover rice

  1. In a wok , heat 3 tablespoons oil . Add bay leaves 3, 4 cloves , 3 cardamom pods , 1 big onion thinly sliced .
  2. Sauté till translucent. Add 3/4 teaspoon ginger garlic paste . Sauté till raw smell leaves .
  3. Add 1 ripe medium sized tomato finely chopped .
  4. Sauté till tomatoes turn soft .
  5. Add the diced potatoes 2 medium . Sauté for 3 minutes .,
  6. Add 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder , 1/4 teaspoon chilli powder , 1/2 teaspoon biryani masala powder.
  7. Add Salt . Mix . Add 100 ml water to the potatoes .
  8. Cover and cook for 5 minutes till potatoes turn tender .
  9. Add leftover rice to the masala . Toss gently without mashing the rice , till masala coats grains.
  10. Garnish with coriander leaves . Super quick potato pulao is ready to serve.
