About Pomegranate Kesari Recipe

Rava kesari is a famous south indian sweet dish and it’s north indian counterpart is sooji ka halwa which is also equally popular and taste good.This pomegranate kesari is quite different by using fresh pomegranate juice.

Pomegranate Kesari

Ingredients to make Pomegranate Kesari

  • pomegranate - 1
  • semolina - 1 cup
  • sugar - 3/4 cup
  • ghee - 1/2 cup
  • Few roasted cashews and raisins

How to make Pomegranate Kesari

  1. Take pomegranate seeds and blend them in a mixer adding little water to a smooth juice.Strain it using mesh strainer and keep the juice aside.
  2. Heat 2 tsp ghee in a pan, then add semolina and roast for 1-2 minutes till it turns light golden brown.
  3. Then pour fresh pomegranate juice to the pan and bring it to boil, once it starts boiling add semolina and keep stirring.
  4. When the mixture starts to thicken,add sugar and keep stirring for another 2-3 minutes.
  5. At this stage add 1 tbsp ghee and roasted cashews and raisins.Mix it well and switch off the flame.
  6. Transfer it to another plate and let it cool.Cut in to the desired shape as you wish and serve.
