Ingredients to make Mast Karela Mast

  • Chopped bitterguard in roundels 2 cups
  • Finely chopped onion 1 cup
  • oil 1-2 tablespoons
  • mustard seeds 1 teaspoon
  • jeera 1 teaspoon
  • saunf 1 teaspoon
  • turmeric powder 1/4 th teaspoon
  • red chilli powder 1 teaspoon
  • coriander powder 1 teaspoon
  • salt to taste
  • Amxhur powder or raw mango powder 1 teaspoon
  • sugar 1/2 teaspoon

How to make Mast Karela Mast

  1. CHOPPED BITTERGUARD IN ROUNDELS, FINELY CHOPPED ONION, MUSTARD SEEDS,JEERA,SAUNF SALT AND SPICES
  2. HEAT ONE TABLESPOON OF OIL AND ADD 1TEASPOON MUSTARD SEEDS
  3. NOW ADD 1 TEASPOON JEERA AND 1 TEASPOON SAUNF
  4. LET THEM SPLUTTER AND ADD 1 CUP FINELY CHOPPED ONION
  5. SAUTE' FOR SOME TIME
  6. ADD 1/4TH TEASPOON TURMERIC POWDER,1 TEASPOON RED CHILLI POWDER AND 1 TEASPOON CORIANDER POWDER
  7. SAUTE'TILL AROMA COMES
  8. ADD CHOPPED BITTERGUARD ROUNDELS AND SALT TO TASTE
  9. MIX WELL
  10. COOK COVERED FOR 5-10 MINUTES AND CHECK AND TURN IN BETWEEN
  11. NOW IT'S PERFECTLY COOKED AND SOFT
  12. ADD PINCH OF SUGAR AND 1 TEASPOON OF RAW MANGO POWDER AND IT'S READY TO SERVE
