ABOUT Chatpate Baby Potatoes RECIPE

This is an authentic Punjabi dish which I learnt from my friend during college days. I have made few changes as per my taste.

Ingredients Serving: 3

  1. Baby potatoes 250 gms
  2. Oil 3 tbsp
  3. Few curry leaves
  4. Cumin seeds 1/2 tsp
  5. Onion 1/2 cup finely chopped
  6. Turmeric powder 1/4 tsp
  7. Salt to taste
  8. Red chilli powder 1 tsp
  9. Coriander powder 3/4 tsp
  10. Chaat Masala powder 2 tsp
  11. Ginger-garlic paste 1/2 tsp
  12. Coriander leaves, 1 tbsp finely chopped for garnishing

Instructions

  1. Boil the potatoes with little salt till 2 whistles blow. Once cooled, peel and make insertions lightly with a fork.
  2. Heat a kadai on medium flame and add oil. Once it's hot, add the cumin seeds and curry leaves. As it splutters, add onions and stir fry till its golden brown.
  3. Turn the flame to low, add all the other ingredients and stir for a few seconds. Then turn the flame back to medium.
  4. Add the boiled potatoes and mix it well. Sprinkle little water and let it coat the potatoes.
  5. Garnish with coriander leaves and serve it hot with phulkas/rotis/rice.
