About Aaloo ke Gutke Recipe

It is a traditional dish of Uttrakhand cuisine and it is a Kumaoni prepared dish made from boiled potatoes.

Aaloo ke Gutke

Ingredients to make Aaloo ke Gutke

  • 3 medium sized boiled potatoes
  • 1/2 teaspoon cumin and musturd seeds
  • 2 teaspoon oil
  • 1 teaspoon red chilli powder
  • 1 teaspoon turmeric powdee
  • 1/2 teaspoon cumin powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon coriander powder
  • 4-5 dry red chillies
  • Green coriander leaves, chopped
  • salt to taste

How to make Aaloo ke Gutke

  1. Boil the potatoes and peel it. Then cut it into pieces.
  2. Take a pan on medium heat and add oil in it. Fry mustard and cumin seeds till it pops.
  3. Add whole dry red chillies, then add turmeric powder, chilli powder, coriander powder, cumin powder and salt in it. Give it a good mix.
  4. Now add the boiled potatoes pieces in it. Mix it well.
  5. Add coriander leaves in it. Cook it for 10 minutes and serve by garnishing it with coriander.
  6. Serve with puri or roti.
