About Kashmiri dum aloo Recipe

Kashmiri dum aloo is made with many spices which are aromatic and give a lovely flavour to the dish.

Kashmiri dum aloo

Ingredients to make Kashmiri dum aloo

  • 500 grams potatoes
  • To prepare the gravy:
  • 3 tsp kashmiri red chilli powder
  • 1/2 tsp ginger powder
  • 1 tsp jeera powder
  • 1/2 tsp fennel powder
  • 1 stick of cinnamon
  • 4 black pepper
  • 1 cardamom
  • 1 bowl of whisked curd
  • 2 cup water
  • 2 cup oil, to deep fry the potatoes
  • salt to taste

How to make Kashmiri dum aloo

  1. Boil the baby potatoes by adding water and salt in a pressure cooker. Whisk the fresh curd till it's smooth and keep aside.
  2. In a small bowl, add the kashmiri red chilli powder and water. Mix it and stir it well.
  3. In a pan, add oil. Then add the parboiled potatoes and deep fry it. Remove the extra oil from it.
  4. Bring down the oil at a low temperature. Add the asafoetida powder add the dry red chilli pieces. Then add the water and red chilli powder solution, add the beaten curd then add water into it. .
  5. Now add the fennel powder, red chilli powder, ginger powder. Make mixture of cardamom, pepper, cinnamon, add this powder in it and add salt in it.
  6. Now add the deep fried potatoes in it. Sprinkle coriander leaves in it and sprinkle the caraway seeds.
  7. Serve it with rice.

My Tip:

When making this Kashmiri dum aloo, add different spices as it gives a good taste.
