ABOUT Kanti Kabab RECIPE

Kanti is the Kashmiri version of the tikka, made with fillets of mutton. The boneless mutton pieces are shallow fried. These kababs are served as a dish, rather than on a skewer. Kanti Kababs are the street food of Kashmir.

Ingredients Serving: 2

  1. Mutton 250 gms
  2. Onions sliced 1 cup
  3. Tomato diced 1 cup
  4. Vinegar 1 tbsp
  5. Meat Masala 1 tbsp
  6. Salt 1/2 tsp+ 1/2 tsp
  7. Red chilli powder 2 tsp
  8. Garam masala 1/2 tsp
  9. Coriander powder 1/2 tsp
  10. Green chilli, sliced 2
  11. Cumin powder 1/4 tsp
  12. Fennel Powder 1/4 tsp
  13. Grated ginger 1 tsp
  14. Fresh Coriander 2 tbsp

Instructions

  1. Marinate the mutton pieces using the spices. Keep aside.
  2. Heat oil in a shallow pan. Add the mutton pieces and fry till it turns brown. Add salt.
  3. Add the onion and fry till it's soft, then mix the tomatoes and chillies. Keep frying till the oil separates.
  4. Serve it hot.
