Ram Laddoo

Ingredients to make Ram Laddoo

  • Yellow lentis 3/4 cup
  • Bengal gram 1/4 cup
  • green chillies 3
  • Grated ginger 1 tsp
  • Green chutney 3/4 cup
  • tamarind chutney 3/4 cup
  • Black salt 1/2 tsp
  • chilli powder 1 /2 tsp
  • lemon juice 2 tsp
  • Fresh coriander 2 tbsp
  • salt to taste
  • cumin seeds 1/2 tsp
  • asafoetida 1/4 tsp
  • Red chilli powder 1 tsp
  • Fresh coriander 2 tbsp

How to make Ram Laddoo

  1. WASH & SOAK 1/4 CUP BENGAL GRAM DAL, 3/4 CUP MOONG DAL IN WATER FOR 4 HOURS
  2. DRAIN & ADD THE DALS TO A MIXER JAR
  3. ADD 1/4 TSP ASAFOETIDA, 3 GREEN CHILLIES, GRIND INTO A COARSE PASTE
  4. PLACE THE MIXTURE IN A BOWL, WHIP IT WELL
  5. BEAT UNTIL LIGHT & FLUFFY LIKE THIS
  6. DROP A SMALL BALL OF THE PASTE IN A BOWL OF WATER, IF IT FLOATS ON TOP, THE BATTER IS READY
  7. ADD SALT TO TASTE, 1 TSP EACH OF CUMIN SEEDS & GRATED GINGER, MIX
  8. PICK UP SMALL BALLS OF THE READY BATTER WITH WET HANDS, PUT INTO HOT OIL TO FRY
  9. FRY FROM ALL SIDES ON MEDIUM HEAT UNTIL GOLDEN BROWN & CRISP
  10. DRAIN ON A PAPER NAPKIN
  11. TO SERVE - PLACE THE FRIED LENTIL BALLS ON A PLATE, DRIZZLE TAMARIND & GREEN CHUTNEY AS PER TASTE
  12. ADD 2 TSP LEMON JUICE, 1/2 TSP CHILLI POWDER
  13. SPRINKLE 1/2 TSP ROCK SALT, 2 TBSP FRESH CORIANDER LEAVES
  14. SPRINKLE 1/2 TSP CHAT MASALA
  15. INSERT TOOTHPICKS, DELICIOUS, CRISP & TANGY RAM LADDOOS ARE READY TO BE SERVED
