This is a quick sabzi made from long beans and potatoes with some basic spices in Gujarat.

Ingredients to make Chawli bateta nu shaak

  • Long beans/Chawli 250 gms
  • potato 1 big
  • oil 1 tbsp
  • cumin seeds 1 tsp
  • Asafetida 1/4 tsp
  • turmeric 1/2 tsp
  • red chilli powder 1 5sp
  • Coriander cumin powder 1 & 1/2 tsp
  • salt to taste
  • Fresh coriander for garnish

How to make Chawli bateta nu shaak

  1. WASH AND CHOP UPPER AND LOWER ENDS OF LONG BEANS.FINELY CHOP THEM.
  2. CHOP 1 POTATO ALSO INTO CUBES.
  3. TAKE A COOKER AND ADD A TBSP OF OIL.
  4. ADD A TSP OF CUMIN SEEDS AND 1/4 TSP ASAFOETIDA.
  5. ADD CHOPPED POTATOES AND LONG BEANS.
  6. ADD SALT TO TASTE,1/2 TSP TURMERIC,1 TSP CHILLI POWDER.
  7. ADD 1 & 1/2 TSP CORIANDER CUMIN POWDER.
  8. MIX WELL AND SAUTE FOR A MINUTE.
  9. ADD 1/4 CUP OF WATER AND CLOSE COOKER.TAKE 3 TO 4 WHISTLES AND YOUR SABZI WILL BE READY.
  10. WHEN COOKER COOLS DOWN,REMOVE SABZI IN SERVING BOWL AND GARNISH WITH FRESH CORIANDER.
