ABOUT Pineapple pachadi. RECIPE

An inevitable sidedish for all Kerala sadhyas. A sweet & sour curry, goes well with rice. We can make ripe mango in the same way.

Ingredients Serving: 3

  1. Pineapple 1 cup chopped into small pieces.
  2. Chilli powder 1/4 tsp
  3. Turmeric powder 1/4 tsp
  4. Salt
  5. Curd 1 cup
  6. Sugar 3 to 4 tsp according to taste.
  7. To grind
  8. Grated coconut 2 cups
  9. Jeera 1/4 tsp
  10. Green chillies 2
  11. To Temper
  12. oil 2 tbsp
  13. Mustard seeds 1/2 tsp
  14. Methi seeds a pinch
  15. Red Chillies 2
  16. Curry leaves a few.

Instructions

  1. Grind all ingredients given ,to a fine paste.
  2. Put pineapple pieces in a other. Add 1 cup of water & chilli ,turmeric powders & salt. Cook till 2 whistles.
  3. Let the steam go. Then open the lid & add ground ingredients, curd & sugar. Add a little more water , if needed. Cook till gravy is thick.
  4. Temper the given ingredients & add to the gravy. Stir well.
  5. Serve hot.
