About METHI MALAI MURG Recipe

Methi malai murg is a wellknown north indian chicken curries. Usually made using fresh methi leaves, but these can be replaced with dry fenugreek leaves also.

METHI MALAI MURG

Ingredients to make METHI MALAI MURG

  • 750 grams chicken on bone, clean, washed & drained
  • 1 & hslf cup fresh methi leaves. Washed thoroughly
  • 200 grams curd
  • 100 grams fresh cream
  • 1 large onion sliced
  • 2 teaspoon ginger garlic paste
  • 4 green chillies
  • 2 tablespoon oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon shahi jeera
  • 2 green cardamom
  • 4 cloves (laung)
  • 10 black peppercorns
  • Two 1 inch cinnamon stick
  • 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 2 tablespoon coriander powder
  • 1 teaspoon garam masala powder
  • salt as per taste

How to make METHI MALAI MURG

  1. MARINATE THE CHICKEN WITH SALT, TURMERIC POWDET, CURD & GINGER GARLIC PASTE. KEEP ASIDE FOR 20 MINUTES
  2. HEAT 2TBSP OIL IN A PAN
  3. TO THIS ADD SHAHI JEERA, GREEN CARDAMOM, BLACK PEPPER , CLOVES & CINNAMON. SAUTE FOR HALF MINUTE
  4. ADD ROUGHLY CHOPPED GREEN CHILLIES. SAUTE FOR A MINUTE
  5. NOW ADD THE SLICED ONION. SAUTE UNTIL IT TURNS GOLDEN BROWN
  6. NOW ADD THE METHI LEAVES & SAUTE FOR 2 MINUTES
  7. NOW ADD THE MARINATED CHICKEN
  8. SAUTE ON HIGH FLAME OF 2 MINUTES
  9. ADD CORIANDER POWDER
  10. GARAM MASALA POWDER. MIX WELL
  11. SAUTE ON MEDIUM FLAME UNTIL FATS SEPARATE
  12. NOW ADD 1 CUP LUKEWARM WATER
  13. MIX EVERYTHING WELL & BRING IT TO A BOIL
  14. ONCE IT BOILS, COVER THE LID & COOK UNTIL THE CHICKEN IS TENDER
  15. ONCE THE CHICKEN IS DONE, ADD THE FRESH CREAM & LET THIS SIMMER FOR 2-3 MINUTES MORE
