About Orange burfee Recipe

Burfee made with citrus ...makes it healthier

Orange burfee

Ingredients to make Orange burfee

  • all purpose flour...1 cup
  • Oranges...2...squeeze fresh juice out of these
  • sugar ...1 cup or so
  • Milk...1 cup
  • Milk powder...1 cup
  • saffron 1/2 tea spoon mixed with 2 table spoon milk
  • Desi ghee 3 table spoon
  • oil few drops for greasing the thali
  • Sliced almonds and pistachios for garnish

How to make Orange burfee

  1. Heat ghee in a non stick pan and add all purpose flour. Keep stirring , let it cook till golden brown. Take it off the flame and keep aside
  2. Heat milk in another pan , add sugar and milk powder. Cook till the milk is half the quantity
  3. All flour mix to it and mix well. There should be no lumps. Add saffron mixed milk also. Add freshly squeezed orange juice also and cook till you see ghee started separating at the sides of the pan.
  4. Once cooked put it in a greased dish. Garnish with almonds and pistachios and let it cool down
  5. Cut pieces and serve

My Tip:

You may use mawa or condensed milk, which i dint use
