A spectacular orange dessert to chill down the heat during summers .

Orange kheer

Ingredients to make Orange kheer

  • Orange medium 1
  • Whole Milk 2 litres
  • Sweetened Condensed milk half tin
  • Sliced almonds 1/4 cup
  • saffron 3 strands
  • cardamom powder 1/2 teaspoon
  • Frozen orange pieces 4 finely chopped

How to make Orange kheer

  1. Extract orange thick juice
  2. In a pan , add the orange juice and cook in low heat till the juice reduces to syrup consistency .
  3. Remove from the flame .
  4. Cool the orange syrup .
  5. Add 2 tablespoons condensed milk to the orange syrup .
  6. Mix and refrigerate this sweetened orange syrup .
  7. In another deep heavy based wok , add the milk .
  8. Allow the milk to boil .
  9. Simmer the flame , once the milk is boiling .
  10. Stir occasionally and reduce the milk to thick consistency . Needn’t reduce like Rabri .
  11. At this point , add the sweetened condensed milk .
  12. Add the saffron strands .
  13. Add elaichi powder .
  14. Allow to boil in high flame for few minutes for a better thick consistency .
  15. Remove from the heat .
  16. Cool and refrigerate for 10 minutes .
  17. Then mix the chilled orange syrup .
  18. Add the frozen orange chopped pieces .
  19. Mix and refrigerate for 30 minutes .
  20. Serve chill .
