About Orange kesari baath Recipe

A delicious sweet from Karnataka called kesari baath which is usually served with khaara baath , a sweet and savory combination with vermicelli and semolina , usually the kesari flavor is that of pineapple , i have used orange here .

Ingredients to make Orange kesari baath

  • 1 cup rava/ semolina
  • 1/4 cup vermicelli ( optional )
  • 1 cup sugar or 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1 tbsp cashew nuts
  • 1 tbsp raisins
  • some chunks of orange
  • 1/4 cup melted ghee
  • pinch of cardamom powder
  • A dash of orange / kesari colour/ or use saffron strands

How to make Orange kesari baath

  1. Take a pan, add some ghee roast the cashew nuts, add raisins to roast till plump, add rava and roast in the ghee till a fine aroma comes
  2. Add the chopped orange pieces . Meanwhile boil around 2 1/4 cups of water in another pan .
  3. Add this boiling water to the roasted rava mixture, add sugar , pinch of cardamom powder. Add remaining ghee and cover pan with a lid,
  4. lower flame and let the rava mixture get cooked . Check on the kesari baath by opening lid after 1 minute, after the water is completely absorbed and mixture thickened, stir well .
  5. Remove and serve with khaara baath
