ABOUT Khatta meetha kaddu RECIPE

Khatta meetha kaddu is a side dish served with aaloo and bedmi puri in uttarpradesh. Though I follow my mother's recipe but her touch lacks.

Ingredients Serving: 5

  1. Yellow pumpkin 250 gms
  2. Ghee 1 tbsp
  3. Cumin seeds 1/2 tesp
  4. Fenugreek seeds 1/2 tesp
  5. Cloves 2
  6. Whole red chilies 2
  7. Salt 3/4 tesp
  8. Red chilli powder 1/2 tesp
  9. Turmeric powder 1/2 tesp
  10. Coriander powder 1/2 tesp
  11. Raw mango powder 1 tesp
  12. Sugar 3 tesp
  13. Garam masala 1 tesp

Instructions

  1. Peel and Deseed pumpkin. Cut into big cubes.
  2. Splutter cumin seeds, fenugreek seeds, cloves and whole red chillies in ghee.
  3. Add pumpkin cubes.
  4. Season with salt, red chilli powder, turmeric powder and coriander powder.
  5. Add 1/4 cup of water.
  6. Cook covered on sim for around 7-8 minutes until pumpkin gets very soft.
  7. Add raw mango powder and sugar.
  8. Mix well and cook for other 2-3 minutes.
  9. Add garam masala powder and it's ready.
  10. Relish with bedmi puri and rassa aaloo.
