Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. 1 cup flour
  2. 1 tsp baking powder
  3. 1/8 tsp cinnamon
  4. 1/8 tsp nutmeg
  5. 1 egg beaten
  6. 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
  7. 1/2 tsp salt
  8. 1/2 tbsp shortening
  9. 1/4 cup +2 tbsp milk
  10. 1/4 cup +2 tbsp sugar
  11. For glaze
  12. 1 cup icingsugar
  13. 3 tbsp milk
  14. 1 tsp vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. PREHEAT OVEN TO 180
  2. GREASE DONUT MOULD
  3. IN A BOWL MIX FLOUR SUGAR, BAKING POWDER, SALT CINNAMON AND NUTMEG WELL
  4. ADD SHORTENING, EGG, VANILLA EXTRACT AND MILK. WHISK WELL
  5. POUR BATTER TO DONUT MOULD TO 2/3 LEVEL
  6. BAKE FOR 11-13 MINUTES UNTIL TOP IS GOLDEN BROWN
  7. ALLOW THE DONUTS TO COOL
  8. IN A BOWL, MIX ICING SUGAR AND MILK WELL
  9. ADD VANILLA EXTRACT AND MIX WELL
  10. DIP DONUTS IN SUGAR GLAZE
  11. GARNISH WITH CHOCOLATE AND ALMONDS OR AS DESIRED
