ABOUT Lahori fish fry RECIPE

Crunchy spicy fried fish with an unique taste . Tastes similar to broasted fish . A captivating party snack / starter .

Ingredients Serving: 10

  1. Fish slices 15 ( I used Pomfret )
  2. Maida 2-3 tablespoons
  3. Corn flour 1 cup
  4. Salt 1 teaspoon
  5. For grinding marinade :
  6. Red chillies 4
  7. Garlic fat pods 7
  8. Cumin seeds 1 tablespoon
  9. Caraway seeds 1 teaspoon
  10. Turmeric powder 2 teaspoons
  11. Red chilli powder 3 teaspoons
  12. Coriander powder 1 teaspoon
  13. Salt as required
  14. Water little
  15. Other Ingredients :
  16. Besan flour 4 tablespoons
  17. Lime juice 1 tablespoon
  18. Oil for Deep frying

Instructions

  1. In a wide bowl take 1 cup corn flour , 1/2 cup Maida , salt . Mix all together . Don’t add water.
  2. Coat every fish slice in this Maida - corn flour mixture . Rest the coated fish slices for 20 mins.
  3. Blend 7 fat garlic , 4 red chillies , 1 tablespoon cumin seeds , 1 teaspoon caraway seeds, turmeric
  4. , coriander powder , red chilli powder , little water to a smooth paste . Transfer this to a bowl .
  5. Add 4 tablespoons Besan flour , salt , lemon juice . Now marinate the fish slices in this masala .
  6. Overnight marination gives Desired result . Heat oil for deep frying . Fry the fishes in batches .
  7. Don’t overcrowd the wok . Fry in medium heat . Drain excess oil .
  8. Crunchy Lahori fish fry is ready to serve . Serve hot .
