About Mango Rice Recipe

Mango rice is one of my all time fav from my mom's recipe.

Mango Rice

Ingredients to make Mango Rice

  • rice - 2 cups
  • Raw sour mango grated - 2 cup
  • Fresh coconut - 4 tbsp
  • salt to taste
  • coriander leaves - 2 tbsp
  • Seasonging :
  • oil - 1/4 cup
  • mustard seeds - 1 tsp
  • chana dal - 1 tsp
  • green chillies - 3or4, chopped
  • curry leaves - few leaves
  • peanuts - 2 tbsp
  • turmeric - 1/4 tsp
  • asafoetida / Hing - 1/4 tsp

How to make Mango Rice

  1. Prepare the rice in a pressure cooker.
  2. In a large wok heat oil , add mustard seeds,hing,chana dal, peanuts stir fry till all golden in color, add curry leaves
  3. Add mango and add rice
  4. Sprinkle salt, coconut, and coriander leaves
  5. Mix well thoroughly and serve hot
