Ingredients Serving: 6

  1. 1 1/2 cup whole wheat Flour
  2. 3/4 cup Coconut palm sugar
  3. 1/3 cup unsweetened Cocoa powder
  4. 2 tablespoon semi sweet Chocolate chips
  5. or dark Chocolate pieces
  6. 1/2 cup Canola oil
  7. 1 cup Buttermilk
  8. 1 teaspoon Vanilla extract
  9. 1 teaspoon Baking powder
  10. 1/2 teaspoon Baking soda
  11. 2 tablespoon Milk if required
  12. 1/2 cup semi sweet Chocolate chips
  13. 1/4 cup low fat milk Cream
  14. 2 tablespoon Icing sugar
  15. Few Chocolate shavings

Instructions

  1. Sift whole wheat flour, baking powder, baking soda, sugar and salt altogether in a mixing bowl.
  2. To this slowly add in buttermilk, oil and vanilla essence along with chocolate chips or dark chocolate pieces.
  3. Gently fold in the mixture until everything come together. If the batter is too thick then add 2 tbsp. of milk. Pour the batter into a greased cake tin.
  4. In a preheated oven bake the cake for 25-30 minutes. If the toothpick comes out clean, then remove the cake and leave it to cool.
  5. Using double boiler method, melt in chocolate chips and add in cream and icing sugar. Stir to combine well.
  6. Pour this chocolate icing over the cooled cake and decorate with chocolate shavings and chocolate chips.
