How to make Bajra Lauki Thalipeeth

  1. In a mixing bowl, take 1 cup of Pearl Millet flour (Bajra atta), 1 cup of Whole Wheat flour (Atta) and ½ cup of Sorghum flour (Jowar atta) followed by 1 ½ cup of grated Bottle Gourd (Lauki).
  2. Then add ¼ cup of chopped Onions, 1 tsp of Green Chilli Paste, 1 tsp of Red Chilli Powder, ¾ tsp of Garam Masala powder, ½ tsp of Coriander Powder, ¼ tsp of Hing and ½ cup of fresh Coriander leaves.
  3. Furthermore, add 2 tsp of Oil then add ½ cup of soaked Flattened Rice (Poha) and mix well.
  4. Add ¾ tsp of Salt and use Water as required for kneading the soft dough.
  5. Cover the dough and allow the dough to rest for 30 Min.
  6. In a preheated tawa, add 2 tsp of Oil then add ½ tsp of Sesame Seeds (Til).
  7. Take small portion of the dough and start rolling the Thalipeeth by tapping and pressing the dough with hand and make 5-inch roti.
  8. While pressing use Water if required as it sticks to the hand.
  9. Then apply 1 tsp of Oil over Thalipeeth.
  10. Cover the lid and simmer the gas on low flame for 5 Min.
  11. Flip over the Thalipeeth and roast from other side for more 5 Min on low flame without covering the lid.
  12. In a similar way, make all the Thalipeeths.
  13. Healthy Bajra Lauki Thalipeeth is now ready to serve hot with Curd, Raita or Pickle.

My Tip:

Add Water only if required as Bottle Gourd leaves the Water present in it. Adding Poha make the Thalipeeth crispy and delicious. Instead of Poha, you can use cooked Rice also.
