Ghiya/ Lauki Shake

Ingredients to make Ghiya/ Lauki Shake

  • 1/2 kg Lauki or bottle gourd
  • 1 litre milk
  • 4 tbsp milk powder
  • sugar as per taste
  • Few mango pieces
  • Mixed dry fruits 1/3 cup (Almonds, pistachios and Cashewnuts)
  • saffron a few strands
  • elaichi powder 1/2 tsp

How to make Ghiya/ Lauki Shake

  1. Finely grate the bottle gourd.
  2. In a wok, add 2 tsp of desi ghee then add in the grated bottle gourd. Roast it for a few minutes.
  3. Soak the saffron separately in some warm milk. Add this to the bottle gourd followed by milk powder. Keep stirring to ensure that no lumps form.
  4. Add sugar and elaichi powder, let it cool down to room temperature. Blend it smooth and refrigerate to serve it chilled.
  5. Garnish it with mango pieces or dry fruits and serve it chilled.

My Tip:

Add ice cream of choice for added flavour.
