About Chole Masala Recipe

Chole Masala is very popular dish. Serve with bhature or pulaw. Very authentic recipe of punjab. You can make in lunch or dinner.

Chole Masala

Ingredients to make Chole Masala

  • 250 gms chole
  • bay leaves 2
  • cumin seeds 1 tsp
  • Dal chini 2
  • 2 tsp green corriander
  • 1 tsp kashmiri mirch
  • 1 tsp red chilli powder
  • 2 tsp corriender powder
  • 1/2 turmeric powder
  • 1 tsp dry mango powder
  • 1 tsp chole masala
  • 2 tbsp garlic ginger paste
  • 2 tomato puree
  • 2 big onions
  • Laung 5
  • Green cardamom 2
  • Black peppercorns
  • Shah jeera

How to make Chole Masala

  1. SOAKED 250 GMS CHANA FOR 8 HOURS.
  2. ADD 4 CUPS WATER AND BOIL.
  3. ADD SALT TO TASTE.
  4. BOIL TILL SOFT, LIKE THIS.
  5. TAKE 2 BAY LEAVES, 1/2 TSP SHAH JEERA, 4 DAL CHINI, 5 LAUNG, 2 CARDAMOM, 1/2 TSP CUMIN, 8-10 BLACK P
  6. HEAT 2 TBSP OIL, ADD ALL DRY MASALAS.
  7. ADD 2 ONION'S PASTE.
  8. ADD 2 TBSP GINGER GARLIC PASTE, SAUTE.
  9. ADD 1%2 TSP TURMERIC POWDER, 2 TSP CORIANDER POWDER, 1 TSP RED CHILLI POWDER.
  10. 1 TSP CHOLE MASALA, 1 TSP KASHMIRI MIRCH POWDER, 1 TSP DRY MANGO POWDER, SAUTE.
  11. ADD 2 TOMATOES PUREE.
  12. STIR CONTINUOUSLY.
  13. TILL OIL SEPARATE.
  14. ADD BOILED CHOLE.
  15. MIX WELL.
  16. COVER AND COOK FOR 5 MINUTES.
  17. ADD 4 CUPS WATER AND BOIL.
  18. ADD SALT TO TASTE, AND BOIL TILL COOK.
  19. OFF HEAT AND SPRINKLE 2 TBSP FRESH CHOPPED CORIANDER.
  20. SERVE HOT.
  21. GARNISH WITH CORIANDER.
