Dhokala

Ingredients to make Dhokala

  • besan - 2 cups
  • curd - 1cup
  • Warm water - 1 cup
  • salt
  • turmeric powder - 1/2 spoon
  • Green chilli 3-4
  • ginger paste - 1spoon
  • lemon juice - 1 spoon
  • Eno/ soda - 1 spoon
  • oil - 1 spoon
  • mustard seeds - 1 spoon
  • sugar

How to make Dhokala

  1. Add besan, curd, warm water and mix properly so that no lumps are formed
  2. Add salt as per your taste
  3. Leave batter to set for 3-4 hrs
  4. Now add turmeric powder, green chilli finely chopped, Ginger paste and mix well
  5. Preheat the steamer and grease the container with oil or ghee
  6. Take other bowl.. Add lemon juice, eno / soda, oil, mix well
  7. Now add this to batter prepared and mix properly
  8. Steam it for 10 mins
  9. Tempering Take a pan.... Add oil, mustard seeds, pinch of sugar.. Heat till mustard seeds pops out
  10. Pour on the dhokala and cut it into shapes u wish
  11. Yummy puffy delicious dhokala is Ready to serve with coriander coconut chutney
