About TANDOORI CHICKEN TIKKA Recipe

Tandoori Chicken is an Indian recipe in which the meat is flavoured with yoghurt and spices and then roasted. The word tikka refers to the cut of meat, in this case sliced chicken fillets. This is one of my favourite dish.

TANDOORI CHICKEN TIKKA

Ingredients to make TANDOORI CHICKEN TIKKA

  • Boneless chicken ( cut into bite size pieces) - 450 gms
  • Thick yoghurts - 2 tbsp
  • gram flour - 2 tsp
  • ginger peeled - 1"
  • cloves garlic - 4
  • green chilly - 1
  • Paprika - 1 tsp
  • Garam masala powder - 1 tsp
  • Roasted coriander powder - 1 tsp
  • Pinch of saffron
  • salt to taste
  • butter for brushing
  • Chat masala - 1 tsp
  • lemon juice - 1 tsp

How to make TANDOORI CHICKEN TIKKA

  1. Add the ginger, garlic and green chilly in a grinder to a smooth paste.
  2. In a mixing bowl add all the ingredients and mix well.
  3. In a mixing bowl add the yoghurt masala paste, paprika, chilly powder, garam masala powder and coriander powder, and also mix in a cinnamon and saffron, mix well make sure to coat them in the thick marinate.
  4. Leave to marinate for a few hours or even overnight if you prefer.
  5. Soak wooden skewers in water.
  6. Preheat the grill on medium.
  7. Shake of the excess marinate and thread the chicken pieces in the skewers and place them on a wire rack.
  8. Cook under the grill for 15 - 20 mins.
  9. Turn the skewers every after 5 mins and baste with melted butter until the juices run clear and they are crooked through slightly charred around the edges.
  10. Serve worm over roti or parathas sprinkled with chaat masala and lemon juice along with Tomato sauce ......
