About Sabudana vada Recipe

This is one of my favourite recipes by mum, and i enjoyed it each and every time she made it for us. So now i make these at home and enjoy with a cup of tea, thinking of mom.

Sabudana vada

Ingredients to make Sabudana vada

  • Sabu Dana - 1/2 cup
  • Boiled potato - 1
  • Chopped green chillies - 2
  • Chopped onion - 1
  • Chopped ginger - 1/2 tsp
  • Chopped coriander leaves (handful)
  • Chopped Roasted peanuts - 1 tbsp
  • Bread crumbs - 1 tbsp
  • salt
  • Refined oil

How to make Sabudana vada

  1. As the Sabu Dana requires to fluff up and is generally soaked for 8 hrs or more, I rather soaked in hot boiling water for just 30 minutes.
  2. While the Sabu Dana soaks, mash the boiled potato with rest of the ingredients.
  3. Then drain the Sabu Dana, and squeeze out the excess water, mix it with potato mixture and form small Tikkis.
  4. Deep fry them in very hot oil. Serve.
  5. P.S : I added the bread crumbs to add the extra crunch and soak up any water left in Sabu Dana.
