The secret behind making a prefect aromatic laddoos is to dry roast the toor dals with much care and patience. Nicely dry roasted toor dal gives a fabulous flavor and i enjoyed it while roasting.

Kandi Sunnundalu/Toor Dal Laddoos

Ingredients to make Kandi Sunnundalu/Toor Dal Laddoos

  • 1 cup Toor dal
  • 1cup jaggery (powdered)
  • 1/2cup ghee
  • 2 cardamom pods

How to make Kandi Sunnundalu/Toor Dal Laddoos

  1. Dry roast the toor dal in simmer until they turns golden brown and a nice aroma comes from.
  2. Let it cool completely and take this roasted toor dal in a mixie jar.
  3. Grind the roasted dal,cardamom with jaggery as fine powder.
  4. Transfer it to a mixing bowl, add gradually the melted ghee and shape them as laddoos.
  5. Enjoy this ultimate laddoos. If conserved properly, these laddoos stays prefect for more than a week.
