About Soft Pretzels Recipe

Soft Pretzels

Ingredients to make Soft Pretzels

  • 1.5 cup all purpose flour
  • 1/4 tsp instant active yeast
  • 1/2 Tbsp sugar
  • 3/4 tsp salt
  • 1 tbsp melted butter
  • water for kneading
  • 6 cups water
  • 6tsp baking soda
  • 1 egg beaten with 1 tbsp milk
  • Sea salt to sprinkle
  • 6-7 tbsp sesame seeds to sprinkle

How to make Soft Pretzels

  1. IN A BOWL ADD FLOUR, SUGAR, SALT AND YEAST. MIX WELL. ADD WATER AND KNEAD SOFT DOUGH.
  2. ADD BUTTER AND KNEAD. COVER WITH PLASTIC WRAP AND KEEP IN A DRY, WARM PLACE FOR 2-3 HOURS.
  3. PREPARE BAKING TRAY - GREASE THE SURFACE. BOIL WATER WITH BAKING SODA. PREHEAT OVEN TO 190
  4. GENTLY DEFLATE THE DOUGH AND KNEAD FOR 3-4 MINUTES. DUST SURFACE WITH FLOUR, DIVIDE DOUGH IN EQUAL PORTIONS, TAKE OUT ONE AND COVER REST
  5. ROLL THE BALL LENGTH WISE. MAKE U SHAPE, PLACE RIGHT OVER LEFT, KNOT ONCE, REVERSE AND SHAPE. PLACE ON BAKING TRAY AND COVER WHILE MAKING REST TO PREVENT DRYING
  6. ADD PRETZELS TO BOILING WATER, COOK FOR 30 SECONDS. FLIP AND COOK FOR 30 SECONDS PRETZELS SHOULD NOT BE BOILED FOR MORE THAN A MINUTE.
  7. DRAIN AND PLACE ON BAKING TRAY. EGG WASH ALL THE PRETZELS, SPRINKLE SEA SALT, SESAME SEEDS AND BAKE FOR 15-18 MINUTES UNTIL GOLDEN BROWN
  8. SERVE WARM, BEST CONSUMED ON SAME DAY
