Chole bhature

Ingredients to make Chole bhature

  • 1 cup white chole (over night soaked)
  • 4 tbsp oil
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 1 inch cinnamon stick
  • 1/2 tsp cumin seeds
  • 1 onion chopped
  • 1 tsp ginger garlic paste
  • 2 tomato finally chopped
  • 1 tbsp kashmiri red chili powder
  • 1/2 tbsp turmeric powder
  • 1/2 tbsp cumin powder
  • 1 tsp coriander powder
  • 3/4 tsp aamchur powder
  • salt to taste
  • 1 tsp garam masala
  • 2 cups water
  • 2 tsp coriander chopped
  • For bhature:
  • 2 cup all purpose flour
  • 1 tbsp rava
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp baking soda
  • 2 tsp oil
  • 1 cup curd
  • oil for deep fry

How to make Chole bhature

  1. firstly, in a cooker heat oil.
  2. saute bay leaf, cinnamon stick and cumin seeds
  3. add finely chopped onions and ginger-garlic paste. saute till it turns golden brown.
  4. add tomatoes and saute till they start releasing oil.
  5. further, add chilli powder, turmeric, coriander powder, cumin powder, aamchur powder, garam masala and salt. saute for a minute
  6. then add soaked chickpea and also add 2 cup water
  7. pressure cook for 7-8 whistles on medium flame.
  8. mix well and garnish coriander leaves
  9. For bhature:
  10. firstly, in a large mixing bowl take maida. add rava, sugar and salt
  11. also add baking powder and baking soda and mix well
  12. add oil and rub with the flour.
  13. also add curd and start to knead dough
  14. grease the dough with oil
  15. cover with moist cloth and rest for atleast 2 hours.
  16. roll and get to a long shape. pinch the dough into medium sized balls
  17. roll the dough evenly into circles using rolling pin.
  18. Heat oil in kadai for frying bhature
  19. Fry bhatura for crispy and brown
