Pipping hot kadhi with dal dumplings in it.

Dapka ni kadhi.

Ingredients to make Dapka ni kadhi.

  • Chola dal 1/2 cup
  • curd 1 1/2 cup
  • 5 green chillies
  • salt
  • ghee
  • curry leaves.

How to make Dapka ni kadhi.

  1. Wash and Soak chola dal for 5 hours. Now crush the dal to a fine paste in a grinder without adding water.
  2. Now add green chillies, salt, hing and fresh chopped corrainder to the dal paste.
  3. In a big thick bottom pan take ghee, once its hot add jeera, green chillies, curry leaves and hing to it.
  4. Now add properly whisked curd to the pan. Add 4 cups of water to it and bring it to a boil.
  5. Whisk the dal mixture to incorporate air in it and make the dapkas soft and fluffy.
  6. Once u start getting boils in the kadhi add salt and taste it and adjust as per required. Now start putting very small balls of the dal mixture in the boils of the kadhi and let it cook for 10 minutes. Serve it hot and garnish with coriander.

My Tip:

While putting dapkas in the kadhi make sure u put each ball in the boil formed in the kadhi so they wont break or stick.
